Guided Hike on Antelope Island with Utah Master Naturalist Lara Chho: 3/4/23

"We gather to bear witness to her beauty.
We gather to grow our tenderness towards brine shrimp,
microbialites, and winged citizens of the air.
We gather to carry each other through spells of despair.
We gather to revere all that is vital and alive."

-Nan Seymour

Invitation from Lara: "My walks are geared towards those who seek to become more familiar with the Lake and Antelope Island, and aim to connect participants with a deeper sense of place in the larger frame of the watershed, culture and ecology of this unique ecosystem. We'll talk about the island and lakes' marvelous cast of characters spanning from brine shrimp to bison. We will also touch on some of the big picture issues and potential solutions our beloved and imperiled water body is currently facing."

Lara is a naturalist and watershed educator with Wasatch Mountain Institute  and believes deeply in the power of connection to place as a catalyst for healing both self and community.

Walks are limited to 12 participants.
