A message from Debbie: Friend, in this writing series we will explore the ecology of place, the world as our home, what we all have in common. We will write into our deep love and affection for, as well as our deep heartbreak and grief for the world, the earth and all her creatures. If you wonder how you belong to place, if you question how to express your deep love for rivers, or your grief for a watershed, there's a place for you at the writing table. This writing series will offer many opportunities to explore and imagine into our interrelationship with all life through the very ground beneath our feet. The poet Wendell Berry in speaking about the earth said, "It all turns on affection" My hope is that this writing series will give us the courage and devotion to keep our hearts open to a deep love of the earth, even as our hearts are breaking.  As Joanna Macy has said, "the heart the breaks open can contain the whole world"
